A passionate filmmaker with an extraordinary imagination

Jon Rosenbaum has earned a reputation as a passionate filmmaker with an extraordinary imagination and a wide range of experience in all facets of production. Raised in scenic Detroit, Jon cut his teeth volunteering on local horror movies, making comedic short films, drawing original comic strips and writing songs for his Beastie Boys-esque band. After graduating with a Film and Television degree from the University of Michigan, Jon won acclaim for his independent feature-length satire “STORMING HOME”, as well as “THE PORK, THE FORK AND THE MAN FROM NEW YORK”, a twisted fairy tale short he created based on a child’s limerick.

Splitting his time between the U.S. and Canada, where he now has dual citizen status, Jon has carved a niche as a prolific director in the comedy and family/‘tween’ genres, where he has won and been nominated for numerous awards. His material has spanned many other genres as well, and has involved partnerships with the top networks, studios and production companies.

Jon is singular in his ability to traverse different formats. In primetime multi-cam comedy, he most recently directed Lopez vs. Lopez (NBC-Universal). In long form, Jon helmed the highly anticipated live-action/CG hybrid Woody Woodpecker Goes to Camp (Netflix), in addition to the sequels to Benchwarmers (Universal) and Cop and a Half (Netflix), and the original MOWs Pants on Fire (Disney) and Nicky Deuce (Nickelodeon), starring James Gandolfini. Jon has also directed hundreds of single-cam and multi-cam television episodes, including multiple pilots like K.C. Undercover (Disney), featuring Emmy-winner Zendaya, and Stuck in the Middle (Disney), starring Jenna Ortega in her breakout role.
